Some folks have entirely too much free time on their hands, and too little brain tissue in their heads.:p

It is amazing the number of people killed and injured in the Rocky Mtns. Every weekend if you watch the News media in Denver or Salt Lake City you will see a report on the these "Climbers".:) The cost to U.S. and State taxpayers for rescuers is outrageous. :(

Cap- at least in Colorado, you get to bill the idiots for the cost of the rescue.

We get a lot here as well from Rainier and other peaks in the Cascade range. Seems especially more common, this time of year when the weather starts to change ant he snow and glaciers get a little less stable. More avalanches, or people snowed in by unexpected storms.

Florida has tough enough things for me to climb. Bar stools, stairs, ladders, political expectations. I am fine with those objectives.

Friend of mine flies a helicopter for county sheriff in CA. He's always out on search and rescue duties. They don't charge the idiots that get lost.

No. No effin' way in hell would I put myself in a place like that! I have a recurring nightmare where I'm having to climb a rickety, impossibly narrow and steep stairway out of a basement, or sometimes out of a canyon. serious heeby jeebies, that. :scared:

Dakota- on Nov 23,1998, he pushed it too far, and paid for it.

C3 , I know about gravity but there will always be that one in the crowd so why not me ? Talk about ironic ! After all that time working vertical , I took an on the ground job and got hurt the first week on a five foot ladder . Fact can be stranger than fiction . I didn't make it one week on the ground , hell , it's dangerous down there ...! Other people had a hand in my getting hurt , I could not pull that one off by myself so back to the sky's comfort .......LOL :D I don't blame others for my injury just people can get too comfortable at times .
