how long do hammer or firing pin springs last in a pump shotgun? i have a chance to get some wolf springs cheap, but don't want to buy what i might never need. also are they easy to replace? thanks

Rarely do firing pins break on pump shotguns. In all my years gunsmithing I do not recall replacing a coil hammer spring on a shotgun.

The only problem is today's products, not just shotguns or firearms as a whole but pretty much EVERTHING is not made with the same quality as 40 years ago.

Both of my Mossberg model 200s, (a K and a d) were made in the mid 50s, and are still all original.

The firing pin or firing spring rarely fail. The shell stop or the interrupter are the most often worn out parts on a pump.

How long will they last? Longer than you. Really. Shooting one made in 1913.
