Found elk hunting this year that as I have grown older my rifles have grown heavier. Looking for a factory rifle/scope combo that is really lightweight. Prefer .270 as I have a pre 64 for back-up. Anyone have experience with Tikka T3 LT?
I shoot a Ruger M77 Mark II that is very light. My grandpa sometimes shoots a Model 700 Titanium in .270. Both of them are light, the 700 is so light that it feels like a toy.
If money is no object, check out Kimber's 84M Montana. You'll have to give up the .270, in favor of .270 WSM, but you get a dead accurate rifle that weighs in at a little over 5#. http://www.kimberamerica.com/rifles/8400wsm/montana.php
