Thankfully I have not had to use my SC 9mm in self-defense. I do train with it in some way shape or form. I am able to clear my house from the front door, back door and either room upstairs in about 4-5 mins taking what I have learned from being an mp. Fast is slow, slow is fast. Thanks to my house being small there are not a lot of rooms to clear, but there are quite a few hidding spots and I will be addressing those with the wife soon.
So I perpose a third question on top of the op's main two. What traing have you taken, about to take, or have implamented into your training
Was the NRA course worth the money? I have real life time in CQC, Which I have placed in my "tool box". I am always looking for the nexted best training. I have taken everything from basic pistol to advanced and a ton of mil. training in long range and CQC training. One thing I plan on doing is becoming a NRA trainer in pistol, rifle, and shotgun. I have a ton on ideas for training and range setups.
On thing I would suggest is vehicle defense. Most states make a vehicle an extention of your home. If you can not get to that training you can get an idea of what to do go to personal defense network and Rob does a video on basic vehicale defense. It is worth a look.
