Purchased a used ruger lc9 for the wife today. After getting it home and playing a bit I found out the magazine follower is getting stuck midway through the magazine. The spring is in good shape and not weak. The mag tube is clean and I oiled it up a bit. There are no visible dents on the magazine. Would it be worth while for me to sand the follower a little to free it up? Or am I better off replacing it and cutting my losses?

Make sure the spring isnt reversed. Thats common if its rotated 180 degrees or upside down

Check the trueness of the magazine, also

If the magazine is not straight, the follower can hang.

It must have worked once before with that follower and I fail to see how the follower grew enough to hang.
