Anyone seen, or better yet shot, the new LC380?
What's the differences from the LCP?
Larger form factor of the LC9.
So, same slim line for CC with more mag capacity?
Its got a magazine safety. Huge huge huge nogo on a defensive gun.
Size of the LC9 but in 380. I have both the LCP (my normal EDC) and the LC9 (for when Im wearing bulkier clothes). I just think if you can carry the size of the LC9 you'd want the 9mm. The recoil isn't that bad at all.
I'm not bashing it. I'm just wondering what others think
I think your right. I dont see the point of it. If i want more firepower in 380 acp there are better guns like bersa thunder plus 15+1. Same size weight as a lc380.
Why not just get a better cartridge if your not reducing the size. Lcp already is slim enough for pocket carry. Lc9 covers the next size up. Then you get into the small 45acp guns. The lc380 seems pointless to me
I think so too. If I had to choose one, I'd probably just go with the LC9.
The LCP is my EDC as well - love to carry it but hate to shoot it. LC9 should eliminate the hump n bump sight issue and recoil but (I agree w Jon)the mag safety has got to go.
However, cost of 380 ammo is outrageous and 9 mm is downright reasonable. So if the weapon has to do double duty - range n CC gun - might want to consider the 9mm. I was looking hard at it but it IS larger n heavier fully loaded than LCP.
The only thing smaller n lighter than LCP is the NAA mini revolver. I knew several people who carried them in Hot weather. AZ.
(Someone makes a 9mm about the size of LCP but it's $$$.)
I think what's more interesting than the lc380 is the fact that Ruger announced factory built extended mags for the LC9 and LC380! So 9+1 for the LC9 and 8+1 for the LC380 if I'm not mistaken.
I don't see a lot of people going-out and buying-one....$$$$$$......When 9mm is the same-size..................
It's pretty simple what the appeal is, less recoil. It's the same reason Springfield is rolling out a single stack 9mm next to the XDS 45.
I can see the LC380 being popular with female shooters. Low recoil and a bigger frame/grip than the LCP.
It might be popular with the female shooters for the lower recoil, but if you can carry the size of the LC380 on the body without printing it just seems you would carry the LC9.
I don't expect my EDC to be fun to shoot. I expected to work when I need it to (which is hopefully never). Quite frankly the LCP sucks to shoot. When at the range I make up a scenario in my head, draw from my holster, pop off the 7, reload it, and put it back at my 1 o'clock. That's it. I'm done with that feisty little thing.
The LC9 isn't that bad to shoot. Still not fun, but not bad at all. So I'm back to thinking "Who's buying the LC380 and why".
I really want to hear from someone who has shot one and can tell us the recoil difference between the LC9 and the LC380.
I may have just answered my own question. Maybe the female shooter that doesn't carry on the body would like the 380 in a larger, less recoil size. Now that would make since.
Sorry just saw this. Have an LC9. Considering the LC380 for the wife..she has carpal & RA...
