I was thinking about this earlier in a SHTF situation how many people know more then one language? There are a lot of people that don't have English as there first language so they might not understand it that well. I'm learning Russian right now thoughts...

We speak English in the United States. If I have to learn Chinese, it's too late to matter.

Just thinking what if you run into someone who needs help or you want to barter with and there English not so good. Only reason I'm learning Russian is because I've always wanted to. =)

Ustede es MUY feo, y su madre viste extrañamente !

Have about a 100 words in Japanese, Vietnamese, German, Hawai'ian.

Of course, y'all may be overlooking the groups of people that are best equipped to survive SHTF, since for them, it has already happened- repeatedly.

How is your Cherokee, Apache, Sioux, Navajo?
    Yah ta hay, bro!
