    Here's a pic of one of my favorites . . . made by the Bowie Corporation, which was owned by Dave Shirley, who later owned Northwoods Knives and the Marbles Custom Shop. Made from 52-100 steel.

    It's a modified flat grind. That piece of Afzelia was something else! I never even cared about wood until I started making knives. I appreciate things more now.

    Uhh oh...Sorry buddy. That blade left here on a plane to Alaska yesterday. An outfitter up there ordered that one back in February....I finally got around to finishing for him. :eek:

    That's a sweet grind job, be proud of that blade. I love those African woods. Was it a stabilized? It's got a nice sheen on it. I got to where I won't go with any knife wood without it being stabilized anymore...sure makes a difference.

    Yep acrylic stabilized and then 3 coats of hand rubbed tru-oil, waxed and buffed like this one I just finished today

    These are 2 of the 3 knives I had made for my grandsons. They get them when they get their Eagle Scout. The oldest has his.
