That is actually a very high quality blade. It will take and hold an edge like a champ.
I recently picked up an inexpensive knife that I am very fond of. It is a Cold Steel, Canadian Belt Knife. These can be bought for around $15.00, and they are a heck of a deal.
I believe they were made in the earl 90's, you can sometimes find them on eBay. They also made a series of the BAR knives.

I need to find some who will do some bartering for one (or two) - I have some dang nice knives I'd trade for.
Friend gave me these. Schrade Uncle Henrys. The large fillet is USA made, the others are, im sure, the newer Chinese made. Probably not worth a lot, but I will keep them in use. He is battling kidney cancer and had a stroke.
This is my EDC. A Boker. I got it as a Christmas present for myself.

The color is good, it will not disappear when put down. The blade is good, it holds a good edge. The cost was about $65 on Amazon, so it is not a large worry if lost.
I have had a couple fairly expensive kniveS and hesitated to carry them as I feared losing them.
Bob Terzuola M18 knife. Acquired from the maker about 30 years ago.
