Kimbers are built real tight where as the design of the 1911 favors it being somewhat loose. My Colt rattles and shoots 2" groups @ 25 yards.

I was offered a Kimber at a decent price about a month ago and passed. To be honest I'm not a 1911 fan by any means.

I like 1911 style pistos but lacking the funds for a Colt .I likely would go for a Ruger of a Rock Island .

That's just me though.

I own two Kimbers a 4" and 5" and both have been execelent, tight accurate and good looking guns.

Nothing wrong with the Rock Island or the Rugers both quality guns at decent prices.

I have the SR1911 in 45 acp. It is comfortable to shoot, absorbs recoil and very accurate.
