Anyone know if there are any regulations in Missouri against nuisance squirrel abatement with a handgun?

As far as I can tell, you can kill 'em anytime and anyway you want on private property as long as it's legal to discharge a firearm.

I have a friend who's been taking them out with a .22 rifle, but I though it would be a good challenge to try with a pistol.

I live on private property in Missouri as well. I'm on 12 acres and it is legal to discharge a firearm where I am located. I too enjoy popping nuisance squirrels in the yard. There are no regulations regarding what you use to do this. I have hit them with my 20ga shotty, .22 rifle, .22 pistol, .177 airgun and my bow. It's a double win for me, I get to hone my shooting skills with various weapons and the squirrels get controlled.

St Charles?!! I live in Dardenne Prairie (between Lake St. Louis and O'Fallon). If you ever need help with the squirrels, give me a shout. Of course, I'd be shooting a 9mm or .40 Glock :)

Thanks for the info ... by the way, do you know if you can also kill raccoon and possum at will?

Well, I don't live in Missouri, but there ARE regulations that relate to this- called the state game laws (YOU call them nuisance squirrels- Game Warden calls it hunting)

Handguns are legal (Hell, you can use an atlatl in Missouri!) You need hunting license, 28 May to 15 Feb, 10 a day- and it should be somewhere it is legal to discharge a firearm.

My Dad lives inside the city limits up in Kansas City, Mo. where discharging a firearm would get him in big trouble, so he got one of those 1,000 fps pellet guns with a scope on it to dispatch those fuzzy tailed rodents on his property. The last time I spoke to him he'd eliminated about 60+ of them so far. ;)

I wished I had a squirrel problem, but my barn cats take care of them. I love skillet fried squirrel. Now with the possums and a couple raccoons and snapping turtles I've had, I just use my little Hi-Point 9mm carbine with red dot scope with tactical light to dispatch them with.
