It is good info and I fully understand as I carry a S&W M&P 45 most of the time and when the weather warms I carry S&W M&P 9mm compact. Just considering a pocket pistol and this one seem to fit the bill. Not a Glock fan and they don't offer a pistol this slim/small either.
Any suggestions of a pistol this size better than Kel-Tec?
The only other guns in your required specs are the Walther PPS & Kahr P9...I would not take a Kahr as a gift..I really tried to like that gun due to size and etc, we stocked in our store and finally sent all of them back to Kahr Arms as too many problems...Some will work fine, but you can't tell until you shoot 200 trouble free rounds through it..I bought 3 K40 Khar's in one night after work. 1st did not work, we replaced it with a 2nd gun, it would not feed ball and replaced it with number 3. When it didn't work, I gave up and got a S&W 642 revolver...
The PPS is very close in size to the PF-9. It is still relatively new to market, having been out little over a year and had several issues. It is still a good design and I want one, but I will wait for another 6 months or so and hopefully the chances of a trouble free gun will be better. Like the Kahr guns, there are some that are trouble free and some are not. Problem is you can't just look at it and tell which it is...
I've carried 24/7/365 for almost 4 decades and have always been looking for the PERFECT gun...It does not exist. Everything is compromise of either size or weight, caliber or price, or something...
For the money, the PF-9 is probably the best current choice, given price and size. When the bugs are gone from the PPS, that will be my choice..And that time is getting closer, fewer and fewer are having issues...but, they run about $679 and mags are priced out of this world...
