Just picked it up. Had my local gun smith look at it before I bought it. He said it was not a welded back up garand. So I had to have it. It's in .308, can wait to shoot it. I got to order a adjustable gas plug first though.

Who made it? The U.S. Military never issued an M1 Tanker.

Tanker was more of gimmick. As far as I know there were only two made during ww2 for testing. One I believe is in a museum and the other was returned to original configuration.

Very nice looking rifle. Thanks for sharing photos. Can we expect to see a range report sometime soon?

That is beautiful; you should kill a bear with it, perhaps from inside a tank of some sort.

No it uses the same clips as the regular M1 garand. I would try shooting a bear from a tank. I know a guy in MVPA here has a M5 stuart tank. Only one problem no bears here in Hawaii.

There aren't to many things that can kill you here just sharks. It really is paradise, but the firearm laws really suck.

Well my new gas plug just arrived at my p.o. Box hopefully I'll be able to get it to the range next weekend. Not sure how loud it's going to be. But we'll find out

I'd almost bet money it'll be like shooting an M44.
