Today in a trade I picked up my 1st Ar10, Dpms recon. I'm pretty excited to shoot it. I put some really good glass on it, Burris mtac 308, and I'll be shooting it real soon. My total out of pocket cost is pretty unbelievable. does anyone own this model, what do yall think of it?

I bought some rails for a siaga12 that I never used for $100. I then traded that for a nice scope, nib. Then traded that scope and another scope I got for free for a fns 40, then traded that for a Remington r1 enhanced. I did a little work to it. Lighten the trigger, polished the internals and put some spare parts I had laying around in it and then traded that for the paratrooper ptr91. Then the Ptr for the Dpms.

Then I found a guy at a gun show selling random stuff and amongst the junk I seen the Burris mtac. He had got it on a rifle from a trade and he said he didn't care to much for it. Which blew my mind because it is a great scope. He wanted $300 for it and I talked him down to $100. Went home happy. I knew it was a nice scope and that it wasn't cheap so I looked it up and it sell for over $700. Guy didn't know what he had.

    Nice score,Sig!
You will probably want to install a better trigger in it.The factory trigger is pretty bad in the Factory DPMS rifles.

Any aftermarket AR 15 trigger will work in the LR series.

1st mag .308 I got sighted in perfectly, next mag 7.62x51 jammed 3 times. I don't know if 7.62 doesn't have enough pressure to push the bolt back far enough to extract but it was having feeding issues. I'm going to call Dpms and find out if I need to send it in. I did notice the handle did take a good amount of force to charge.

From the reviews I've read it seems many of the .308 AR pattern rifles require a break-in period especially before they run weaker bulk ammo. Hopefully the rough edges just need smoothed out. Were you using Pmags? I'm looking at the M&P 10 as a my next hog hunting rifle. Most claim it takes between 100-150 rds before they run anything.

What 7.62 NATO ammo were you using? I have some old German and British stuff tucked away that is pretty hot, and some old Portuguese that is rather mild. So, I know there can be some pretty wide variations.

I wish I had a spare Geiselle trigger just sitting around.:)

It was new white box Winchester. I bought few days ago from Walmart. The,giesle trigger is for a,build that has been put in the back burner my Ar15 has a cmc trigger which I love great stuff.
