Friend inherited a Jimanez (sp?) 9mm semi-auto pistol. It has a trigger lock that covers the trigger guard / trigger. No key. Lock takes an odd-shaped key (5-pointed star in the middle with pin holes arranged around the star). Tried to call the company service dept. - no answer. Tried to call the main company number - call won't go through. Original owner deceased.

    Helpful suggestions ?

Drill it if you're interested in keeping the gun for some reason.

Might have to drill. A task I'll leave to my friend if need be. If those locks are generic, a trip to a LGS with one in stock would solve the problem. When a company is unreachable, it's hard to get questions answered. Gun, papers, etc. are still in the factory box - just no key.

You saying you can't get ahold of anyone at Jimenez arms? Between the wife and i we have 4 of their pistols. None came with locks though. I had lost parts on 2 of our guns. I offered to buy them from Jimenez. No cash needed. He sent out right away.

contact the locksmithing lawyer on youtube. he probably has an example of the lock and a video of how he picked it.

This sounds like a barrel key lock. I have a tool to open them without the key. Jimenez Arms recently kicked the bucket (again). This is probably why you can't contact them. You can DM me if you are interested in me removing the lock.

That is a bummer they are going. They recently expanded their line too.

They found the key. Thanks to everyone for helping. Deceased brother had been in nursing home when he passed, so it's taken awhile to clean out his apartment. Thanks again.

Keep it locked that way you won't find out how bad of a gun it is. LOL
