Single shot bolt action .22? Made by Savage for Sears, it is a model 15-120. I THINK production was in the 1930's. Just about impossible to date many of the inexpensive .22s and shotguns.

Use? Utility grade shooter. Suitable for a youngster, shooting weasels in the chicken yard, squirrel hunting, shooting a hog at slaughter time, etc. Depending on condition, value today around $65- as a shooter.

The J.C. Higgins 101.24 crosses to a Savage 15 single shot. These guns were made from 1936-1965 and are worth less than $100.

I have one also, have had it sense I was 8, so I guess I have had it 50 years, mine is a Shapleigh's King Nitro aka Savage Model 15. It was built by Savage for Shapleigh's Hardware out of St. Louis, MO. back in the late 30`s, looks like this !.......

Cooper- I have several of the little Savage/Stevens/Springfield bolt action .22s. These were decent HUNTING/ PLINKING grade rifles. That means they can shoot minute-of-bunny at 40 yards, and are hell on empty soda cans.

It is not a benchrest target rifle that will put 5 rounds into an M&M at 50 yards. They also do not cost what that benchrest rifle will cost...:D
