As with any of the people here, buying another firearm is is total joy.....

Or it use to be. Lately, when considering purchasing another firearm, I end up thinking the purchase over and walk out empty handed. I don't seem to have any "holes that need to be filled" in my safes. I don't have that "I need that gun to make my life complete" feeling anymore.

Am I losing it or are the little voices starting to take over?

I'm in the same boat. I have multiples of everything I could possibly need and much of the excitement is gone. Right now I have 3-4 that I haven't even shot yet and in days past that would never have happened...

The only problem I have is the wallet doesn't hold enough funds to fill the needs. I need another AR, 6 more Mosins, an LCR in 357, another 1911, another AK, an M&P(can't decide on caliber), and 2 more Sigmas:D

I'm sure there is always something, so if anyone wants to donate, I will give you my paypal info.

Not to worry this is only a temporary situation, I guarantee. Dr. Joe

I think I only have one hole, which I have addressed (have fun with that one). But, after I fill that hole, I still think another one will appear.

Yup. A few I want to upgrade, but the rack is full with a few standing in the corner.

    I've actually considered---just for a moment---S--S-S-S-Selling some. Is
    this a treatable condition?:)

I think what I need to do is broaden my horizons. Most of my stuff is
    Practical Pistol/3 gun/GSSF/ ICORE/Steel Challenge. I think I'll get
interested in Sporting Clays or maybe F Class--that should take care of
the stagnant cash outflow and stimulate the economy!

I've told myself I will not buy another gun until I get an upper for my AR-in-progress... although I really really really want a Mosin Nagant...like right now..

I still have many voids to fill in my gun collection, but I do have one that *gasp* I haven't shot yet, my little NAA mini revolver.

It's a terrible feeling..... Don't blame yourself... Blame the few absolute FAVORITE guns you own. They get way too much attention! They are like huntin' dogs. You gotta feed all of them :D

I totaly get it. I keep going to Cabelas, Sportsmans Warehouse, Jerry's Outdoor Sports, all the pawn shops and keep walking out empty handed. I am waiting for something rare to catch my eye. I am thinking about some kind of a top break revolver. Probably not an Iver Johnson. I need to do a little more research.

Just a suggestion...If you have a LOT of guns, why not choose one that you may "love" a little bit, but may not have much use for (or see yourself having much use for in the future) and sell it to someone who will love it as much as you have and who will have have a use for it, be it a serious collector, a hunter, someone who needs a home defense weapon, etc.?
When you look at your collection you'll see that something is missing, something's just not "right", and you'll have a reason to go out and find that new something that will fill that void and make you feel "complete" again...

Do u work in porn? :p

Srsly though, I went to the shop the other day and returned a scope - reticle wasn't suitable for what I wanted. While I was there I nearly walked out with a used Colt Commander 1911. It was such a nice pistol! The reason I didn't is that I still haven't finished reading Cane's How To Guide on buying a 1911. So much info, so little brain :(

For starters, I would like to replace some of the guns that I've had to sell. Then I could move on to what I'd really like to have.

So, no I don't have that problem. :p

I don't think I could lose the love until I have all the guns...Every last one of them. And because I just can't see that happening I'll always be hungry.:D

I know the feeling. I can hardly convince myself I need another gun, much less the Lovely Mrs. I do need a large double rifle (.450 Nitro or so), and would like a .475 Linebaugh, but seriously, after I got my .22 Stevens Crackshot my life is nearly complete.

Perhaps the problem is that the weapons you have need to be taken to the next level?

Perhaps taking one that you know and love and elevating it to semi custom or even full blown custom would bring back some of the feeling. ;)

I know it did for me.

I'm with you Dan, and have several that have never been fired. Every time I go burn some powder it seems like the same few come along.

So I've decided to sell a bunch, and focus on the few. I still trade with friends from time to time and that satisfies my rare urge for something new.

Thanks guys. I was kinda worried about the little voices of reason.

I am going to take the "dusty" ones out tomorrow. Add a couple that I need to function test, and it should be a good day.

    Thanks again
