The wife and I got our concealed carry permits about six months ago. My wife had only fired a civilian weapon once or twice before she got her permit. She was a SAW gunner while she was in the Army (all 98lbs of her), but never fired a pistol. I bought a S&W 637 for her first gun. That's when it all started. She's been going to the range at least once a week ever since I bought it for her. The other day she shot an LCP and now wants one of them. My buddy's fiance saw my wife's 637 and yesterday they bought a 642 and are applying for their permits on Friday. My wife's mother saw how much fun my wife has at the range and applied for her carry permit and went to the range with us yesterday. I got her where she was getting a probably 4" group with my old .38 on her first day at the range. Not too bad for her first time ever even picking up a pistol.
The moral of the story.....
Get those that are close to you out and let them shoot. Start them off with something reasonable and let them see how much fun it is. We need all the allies we can get right now.
