I’ve never been one to be organized but yesterday I decided to at least organize the ammunition I have by caliber. As I was doing this I realized I still have cartridges for guns I traded or sold years ago. Here’s a picture.

    IMG_0732_1.jpg
From left to right they are 9x17 (.380), 9x18 (Makarov), 9x19 (luger), 9x23 (Largo), 38 S&W, 38 ACP, 38 Super Auto, 38 Special, and 357 Magnum. They all make the same size hole going through paper.

I haven’t had a pistol that shoots the 38 ACP or Super Auto for at least 10 years and none of my friends have one either.

I have a ton of ammo that I have no gun to use it in. I have 500 rounds of .270, but I haven't owned a .270 for 40 years.

Nevertheless, this ammo could be valuable trading stock should times get hard.

Over the years, I've had: 9mm Kurz (.380 ACP); 9mm Luger; .38sp; and .357mag. Though I've fired most of those others.

Can't recall having kept ammo after selling off old arms in a given caliber. Which must mean I've less of a sickness than I thought. Well that's something. :p

    EDIT: spelling, grammar.

I just bought a heavy commercial cabinet to sort/store my ammo. Wife is freaking out now that it's all in the open... :D

Looks like you need a 350 Legend for your collection!

The only ammo I have for a gun I do not have is some 308 my son has to come and pick up since he got the rifle.

I found 20 rounds of .454 Casull the other day that I had misplaced. Sold my .454 ten years ago. Other than that I only have ammo for the guns I own...as far as I can tell...

The 38 ACP can be used in a 38 Super 1911 without an issue but a 38 Super should not be fired in a pistol designed for the 38 ACP.

I have like 120 rounds of Franklin Arsenal 30-06 match that I bought at an estate sale. Good excuse to find a nice 03 to go with it. Bought some 9mm. Ultra at the sale too. Got a pretty penny for it on GB.

Yeah, well. What happens under the rug stays under the rug, I always say. (Well, not all that often, but you get what I mean.) :p

Not under the rug. That would have been a little obvious. Just spread out all over the garage in storage tubs and ammo cans. She knew it was there. She’d just never seen it together... :D

A while back I found some old boxes of Black Talon .45acp. Took a look in Gunbroker and immediately listed it. Got enough cash for a nice new gun!
