    YHM Multi CAL lower
    ERGO grip
    Daniel Defense 16" upper
    Adams Arms piston kit
    JP Ent trigger
    YHM flip up iron sights
    Tan Vltor stock
    Tan Tango Down foregrip
    2 -30 steel magazines
    round count 300

It's a local guy wanting to sell his AR. He wants $1000, but the part that worries me is the add on piston. I've read they can wear out the receiver if not done properly.

It would not be worth it to me, but the parts do add up to that pricing range.

The add on piston kits aren't rocket science. Piston in place of gas tube. Fit and align accordingly. Test fire and adjust as necessary.

You are going to lose, probably, .5MOA over the same gun in a gas system for follow up shots and your multiple shot/hit sight picture will be slightly more compromised.

But, if you absolutely HAVE to have a piston driven AR, he is not out of normal pricing given the package he has there.

I don't think Id do it being as it has the afterthought piston system. To bad he ruined a nice DD upper.

Is the barrel a lightweight profile? Mid length, correct?

I agree with JD, I wouldn't want it but if you're wanting to try a piston AR the price might not be too bad. Thing is for me, $1000 would build me a DI gun with exactly what I wanted.
