I read on this website that Glock was sold to another company. Is there any truth to this?

They merged with HiPoint, they are very similar, after all.

    chlogeo,

Yes that is true! Gaston Glock sold his company to Fabbrica D'Armi Pietro Beretta in April of I believe 2010? (As far as the exact date I am not positive). That also is why some changes were made to the new generation Glock pistol frame material and design and manufacturing process. This because Gaston would not allow them to use some parts. Like the composition material of the frame and recoil spring system. Why I do not know, but he retained some of the patented items that had been used on the Glock pistols for years. I understand the new Gen 4 and newer pistols shoot well and Beretta advised they will still be manufactured here and in Europe at the same factories as they have in the past

I just spoke with Glock in Georgia and they say there is no truth to the rumor that Glock was sold to another company. Are they hiding something from the public?

Chlogeo what you read was someone saying that it's not owned by glock anymore. Meaning that (you) own the gun now not glock anymore so your free to do whatever you want to do with it

Just spoke to the General Manager at Glock Austria and he advised me Glock is still Glock and has not sold out to anyone.

If they merged with beretta what would the sub company name be "GLOCKETTA"?

Yes, that was me. I'm very sorry if I have caused any kind of confusion, and that is exactly what I meant. The gun is in your hands, and is no longer owned by the retailer or the manufacturer. As far as GLOCK selling the company to someone else, I have no idea on that.

Yeah, it was another thread on someone doing a custom engraving on their GLOCK. Some one made a comment somewhere along the lines of not doing it at all I think (I'm looking for the thread to link it in), and I made the comment above (about GLOCK not owning it anymore) in reference to the fact that once you've paid for something, your free to pretty it up however you want, so long as no illegal mods are made (not what I said, but what I meant. I forget, the telepathy thing is broken).

I did state it very poorly, I'm sorry to drive everyone to distraction.
