Saw this article that postulates the idea that the modern practice of sanitizing everything is causing more harm than good. A lot more.

More like people today are eating insane amounts of chemicals and foods designed in laboratories, because the FDA calls it safe. Foods and chemicals never designed for human consumption.

You need a PHD and google to understand what you're eating. You can't tell me that stuff is "safe".

You could be like the thousands of people who went on a paleolithic diet and reversed diabetes, reversed Chrons disease, and eliminated auto-immune disorders... or you can just wait for the pill to come out...
why work for results anymore, right?

Yes. Oversanitation can be very bad for you. First off, you can't build up an immunity. You'd be much better off having some contact with a large variety of bacteria, than you would if you never came into contact with bacteria at all.

I also agree with Mosin the chemical filled, and genetically altered crap we eat. I think that's one of the reasons why cancer is so common today.

Got a buddy that won't touch anything unless it gets wiped off first. Oddly enough he's always coming down with something.

Yup. The people who wash everything and use hand sanitizer are the first to get sick.

Almost gagged once when her mechanical pencil tasted like lunch meat.

That's why I never wash my hands...lol just kiddin...

It doesn't bother me to eat with rust, brake dust, dirt, grease etc on my hands. When you work construction, sometimes in the middle of nowhere with no running water it can be impossible or very difficult to wash your hands before you eat lunch. I'm definitely not a germaphob....

I think we didn't hear about these problems in the 19th century (remember, that's the 1800's) because medical journalism and research wasn't as advanced back then.

That being said, I don't go overboard with sanitizing. I'm not a germaphobe. If I'm washing my hands, it's either because: A-I'm about to eat, and I simply prefer my hands to smell and look clean while I'm using them to shove food into my mouth (I simply find meal times more appealing that way). Or B-I've gotten sh!t on them. Or some other bodily waste/fluids that can be more dangerous that normal, meaning maybe someone else's spit, blood, urine, fecal matter, vomit...

People dying from infectious diseases of a well documented phenomenon. Very well documented. And remember the things like "wasting" sicknesses from way back when. Those would appear to be diseases like cancers. They're not new.

Soap and water, that's all!. The entire theory of immunity comes from building one up via smaller exposures.

I was a Country Bumpkin Kid, barefoot in the Barn Yard; couldn't keep me down or clean. Ive been injured more times than most but rarely ever get sick. Even when I do catch what everyone else gets, I usually get through it quicker with less symptoms. My friends and I all share the same story.

I dont think its a great idea to add extra dyes and chemicals to our bodies daily but Im a guy, I dont have to do that crap and Im never gonna! My wife suggested Grecian formula for my grey a few years back, I told her I earned every damn one of them, leave them alone!

When I was a kid there was no such thing as sanitizing like today. In fact my parents always would say that a little dirt won't kill ya!
