Hello, I'm a home shop machinist looking for a new direction in my hobby. I have been building, repairing, and modifying air guns for a long time and now I would like to get into BP rifles.
I'm fascinated with some of the underhammer rifles that I have seen while surfing the net.
My question is, what keeps the cap on the nipple when the gun is cocked? I haven't used any kind of a BP rifle myself. The only one that I had a close look at was one that I removed a stuck ball from. (the guys kid put one down the bore with no powder). It certainly would not retain the cap if turned upside down.
TIA
