Mine shoots great! I changed the sights out and installed the apex trigger
My m&p 40c is my favorite handgun! Best shooting most accurate pistol I've ever shot and I've shot many. I would carry it more but it is a little bulky and heavy, so I carry my new XDS.45 now but hope to find a shield soon. However, my 40c is my go to gun in my house if something goes wrong over any other of my handguns, AR, shotgun....etc
Love it. Carry it most times as my primary. I've never had a FTF.
It is my primary carry. Added apex trigger kit & night sights. Great gun. Not as good as a Glock, but much safer.

Sure. The Glock is a simpler, designed for war weapon. It has less moving parts and can cycle hundreds, if not over a thousand rounds before cleaning is necessary to avoid malfunction (sh!tty ammo excluded). It is the most popular LEO sidearm worldwide. On basic toughness, function, and overall reliability; you can't beat a Glock.

That said, I carry an M&P. It also is extremely reliable out of the holster and I can depend on it. Because of more moving parts, deep cleanings are required more frequently. For me, I will break my Glock down around every 2,000 rounds with a field strip and cleaning after each range visit. The M&P compact is going to require a bit more detail work, more frequently. None of this deters me. I get great accuracy with my M&P and I feel very secure keeping a round in the chamber due to the manual safety I chose for my 40c. So for me, and only me, personal safety trumps the Glock.
Interesting. I've got over 6,000 rounds through my M&P40 and I have yet to do more than a field strip and clean. Mostly just wiping the soot from inside the slide area and putting a touch of lube on the lube points.

Nice. Do you have the APEX trigger kit? I started getting a little reset issue after 1,000 rounds and found stripping it down & cleaning took care of it.

Nope, completely stock (that is, until recently when I added a factory 9mm barrel and mag to try out 9mm. That also works perfectly).

The trigger was fairly light when it was brand new and had the slightest bit of "grittiness" near the break. Since then, there is no grit and the trigger breaks like glass. I measured it about a year ago at 4.3 pounds.
