I decided to finally put some money down for a CZ model made in Germany. I need some on the procedure for it, and if it's deemed completely impossible, then what about importing parts. I'm currently stationed in Texas for training and will be for 3 more months. Any help and information would be appreciated. Thanks.

3 months may not be enough time to clear the ATF form 4 through.

With the number of CZ models already in the US, why one from Germany?

For the sake of not having to buy a complete handgun just to strip most of it away for the right parts. But frankly, it already sounds like that's probably the much easier route. There were some modified frames I saw that were appealing, but it's not a deal breaker at all. Does it work the same with overseas with sending parts as in states? Pretty much it's not considered a gun if it's not the frame?

No. When importing exporting, that is governed by (I think) the State dept. You cannot even ship a rifle scope out of the US without paperwork.

It will give you a hobby to keep up with the paper and permits.

Well, my next duty station is (thankfully) Alaska so that's not a massive issue. I misread the site, and the only part I really need is a slide. So how much trouble am I asking for with just that? More importantly what kind of time frame do you gentlemen imagine it taking?
