    Hello big folks.

Imagining myself driving in my truck somewhere in the city or whatever.
My gun is unloaded in a locked box inside the cabin.
I go across a situation where I'm able to reach my gun and load it and use it for self defense.

What is the law and order her of I don't have a CCW ?

Depends on what state you're in. Some, just having an unloaded firearm is a no-no. Others, having the firearm and the ammunition in the same area is a no-no, but if the firearm is in the trunk and the ammo the glove box, you're fine.
Others, you can have them both together and it's private property and perfectly legal, even if you don't have a concealed carry.

Well, something will probably happen to someone.

If that is as specific as you can be, that is as specific as I can be.

New York City? You will be able to write a book on Riker's Island prison. Amarillo TX? They hold a parade, give you keys to city.

Whether or not you have a concealed firearms license has abso-diddly-nothing to do with USING a firearm.

Naw, C3, we're the ones who are supposed to have the

    imagination...

OP, know your laws where you live and travel.

Of course, if the LEOs in the jurisdiction where

you are stopped don't know the laws, you may

be arrested and get your stuff confiscated

    anyway.

We live in a world where "ignorance of the law

is no excuse" , unless you're a LEO, in which case,

apparently, "ignorance of the law" is a PERFECT

    excuse...

    ...hope this helps.

That's true it will all depends on the circumstances however if I have a legit reason to use a fire a firearm that's absolutely justifiable in the court of law. But in California for sure they will be looking into the CCW regulations as they will assume that I had concealed to begin with and then I get a felony conviction lol.

Good thing it's an imagination situation but it's a realistic scenario.

Thanks to all of you helping with the information.

I'm proud to join a forum with such great people.
