Well, I went out to my local indoor range today. For those of you that don't know me, currently, the only gun I own is a Rock Island Armory 1911 in .45. It's a basic GI style gun, full size, single side safety, Parkerized finish, and 8 round magazine capacity. This works out perfectly for me because I like shooting 25 round groups. 8+1 in the gun, and 16 on my belt in a pair of Chip McCormick Custom 8 round magazines. I only had two failures to feed today, and both were because the magazine was not seated all the way in the gun. Both happened with the factory magazine. I shot at two distances. I ran two groups at 7 yards (21 feet) and one group at 20 yards (60 feet). The first two groups were aimed shots at 7 and 20 yards, and the last group was rapid fire at 7 yards. On to the pictures. 9 round group at 7 yards, taking time to aim. 25 round group at 7 yards, taking time to aim. 9 round group at 20 yards, taking time to aim. 25 round group at 20 yards, taking time to aim. 1 round off paper. Pictures continued in next post due to 4 picture limit.
