I wouldn't be surprised to find if this thread already existed, but if you could only have one knife (not a bowie type) what would it be?

Seein as how ESEE backs up and uses their own products, it would prolly be one of those. I wanna get one of their outstanding knives, when I can afford it.

I could never get by with just one knife. However, in theory I would pick a fixed blade, drop point knife with about a 4 inch blade. Among the one's I own, it would be hard to choose between my Swamp Rat Howing Rat and my Bark River North Star.

+1 except it would be my Gene Ingram #30 drop point Firesteel (stock photo as I wouldn't dare take something this nice to where I'm at now!):

If I could only choose one knife, it would have to be a bowie type of knife.

I'd go with this little hunter I built at Alan Hutchinson shop. It's hand forged 1060 with a stainless guard and a western walnut handle. It holds a great edge and isn't to big and bulky.

I really like my S&W tactical knife. I have had it for 7years now. Yet, I always carry at least four knives with me while hunting. Each serves a separate purpose.

You know there is really nothing special about the S&W knives but I have three folders that I carry one or the other about all the time. They keep an edge pretty well but they are no high end knife by any means. vI kind of shy awasy fomr more pricy knives mostly because it ticks me off when I am misusing one somehow nad I mess them up  I usually have some form of case knife in my pocket as well. I have knives all over the place. In tool boxes, tackle boxes, in the truck. I have at least one in all of my different coat pockets. They're like Lays Tater Chips..Can't have just one.:D

If I had to pick just one I honestly have no idea. And I'd have ot get rid of a bunch of knives:eek:

    My hand made buffalo knife.

It would be my hand made Buffalo skinner (Not a bowie). it is 18" over all length, stag handle, with beaded deer hide sheath.

Probably my Gerber MK II that I purchased in 1977 while I was in the Navy, though I am looking for a good, well made Khukri.

Without a doubt, it would be my Benchmade Adamas folder in plain edge. No qualms with leaving my other blades behind and having just this one.
