I was wondering if I was in Law enforcement or Military would that grant me access to class 3 firearms made in this century? Would I still need ATF tax stamps? What is the minimum level of Law/ Military needed?

It doesn't matter, everyone has to get the tax stamp and go through the process. Unless the LEO will use the weapon for on duty purposes and has a letter from the Chief I believe. Military personnel are treated like any civilian when it comes to purchasing firearms. This is my understanding of how the Class III scene works. I'm sure someone who has more experience with it though will be along shortly.

Yeah we, military, don't get any special favors regarding class 3 other than we get to shoot the government owned ones occasionally...

If you are a law enforcement AGENCY, or an ARMY, you can buy fully automatic firearms, no tax stamp needed. If you are a law enforcement OFFICER, or a SOLDIER, you cannot buy a full auto not already registered by May 1986. '

There are no exceptions in the law for members of such a group, only for the groups themselves.

But if you are 18, in good health, and a high school grad, I can put you in touch with someone that can arrange for you to shoot all the full auto's you want. Even supply the ammo.

Check with your recruiter, there's actually a pretty good wait right now in sine areas. In the neighborhood of 8 months in some places.
