    Somebody please stop me.

Or at least see that I do not buy another rifle that weighs less than an empty M-16.

But if I get one, make it a semi, and not a bolt action

But if I get one, please see that it has a recoil pad.

and not a metal buttplate that has the same surface textures as a meat tenderizer.

'Scuse me- I got to find the bottle of Motrin. The big bottle. And a hot shower. And then the icebag for the shoulder. Ow. Ow ow ow ow ow.

Boy. that little Remington is gonna be a HELL of a deer rifle.

    Ow. Whimper.

I take it you got a Rem model 7 or something of about that weight? Yeah those things can kick. Put a Sims Limbsaver pad on it yet?

My SA M1A Scout Squad had a synthetic stock with a pad from the factory. Wood stocks look better, and a steel buttplate may be more "manly", but I could shoot it all day and never feel a twinge.

    Buy an M1A/M14.

Cut the stock at the length of the hinge for the buttplate, and install a nice cushy recoil pad.

You can also fill in the hinge area to keep the stock a bit longer and install a pad.

OK- the ibuprofen is working. I'll stop whimpering. I had forgoten bruises CAME in those colors.

Appreciate the suggestions on the M1A, but specifically wanted this one due to VERY small size, and very light weight. But there IS that pesky "equal and opposite reaction" equation.

I got a 99F -- same steel buttplate. Gonna try a slip-on pad for it. After 20 rounds it gets to be a bit much....
