Identifying action on custom .257 roberts

    Hello, I am trying to get some information on this rifle that is for sale and all I have is this pic and I am not familiar with custom built rifles. Can someone tell me which type of action is on this rifle and any more information you might be able to tell from the pic. Thanks

    Looks like a Mauser action,I really can't see it well enough to be sure.

    Yes, a mauser action for sure. Not sure due to the photo, but think it is a large ring mauser due to the cocking piece design. Pretty sure a small ring wouldn't have a groove in the cocking piece.

    That is a Persian Mauser action, they were made by Brno in Czechoslovakia for the Persian military..............

    Thanks for the help everyone, from what I looked up the persian mauser seems to be a pretty smooth action but I didn't find any that were chambered for the .257 roberts.

    It has been rebarreled with a sporter barrel in .257 Roberts.
