I saw an article today about the Idaho Wolves. Guess I never realized how big they got. The article also advised that each on of them in the picture would kill an estimated 24 Elk each year! WOW! I knew they were becoming a serious problem but I guess I did not comprehend the severity and impact. How about it you guys and gals from Idaho and the area?
Here is part of the article:

The Canadian Gray Wolf runs in packs of up to twenty wolves. For every one animal they kill to eat, these Canadian wolves kill about three more just for the fun of it. The biologists call it "sport-reflex killing" or "lustful killing". The Canadian Gray Wolf is a killing machine. These are federal wolves, as it was the federal government who introduced them into Idaho over our objections. They told the State of Idaho that the wolves would be considered recovered when they had a total of 100 wolves in Idaho.Now they have between 800 and 2,000 wolves and the situation is out of control. Idaho 's wolf emergency is a state issue. And in this situation, the State of Idaho has both a duty and the authority to protect its people and their property. House Bill 343 lays out the facts, the argument and the authority to do so. - Idaho Rep Phil Hart.
Can you imagine gun control out there.
This is not a good place to let the cat out. Make sure you are packing protection when you go for a walk in the mountains. You never know when a wolf pack might surround you!

Ya and the tree huggers will tell you they only kill what they eat, BS. Wolves are nothing but problems.

I live in Hailey, Idaho. There is a pack out East Fork that I have been hearing at night for the last three months. There is also a pack near Ketchum that is out Warm Springs and has been howling at night for some time. These wolves are not as big as the ones in North Idaho but still do as much damage on the elk heards. This is a tough animal to hunt, he has a lot of skills. It seems that the best way is to look for downed elk and just stake that out. Idaho did pass a new law that states if you find road kill deer or elk you can pick that up and use it for bait, that explains the new bumper on my truck. And next year they will allow for a greater number of wolves to be harvested, come to Idaho and hunt wolves. If the quota's are not met, they will open more ways to harvest this POS, so it will just end up like pig hunting in Texas. There is a reason they all got shot in the fifties.

Idaho is going the other direction on gun control. They have passed a few new pro gun laws. This week they are passing new CCP laws that will require more training to have a permit, their point of view is better training will allow for more places a permit holder can go with their guns like schools and gun free zones.They want to say a trained person has the right to carry a gun and that person is a good thing. They are also going to pass a law that says the u.s. constitution has the second amendment and they will not allow any new federal guns laws to come down the pipe. Idaho is pro gun and hopefully magpul will move out of colorado and build their stuff here.

I would love to hunt wolves in Idaho. I have a friend that moved out there from Indiana years ago his name is Kent Lamont who is a Class III Dealer. Loves Idaho and said it is one of the best states in the USA to raise children. And you are dead on with the Second Amendment issue and God Bless Idaho!
I just recieved a shock wile posting this to you. I wanted to advise you where Kent lived so I pulled his name up a moment ago! OH MY IN SHOCK!!! Small arms review advised he passed away last year! That is sad! But if you Google his name you can find out where he lived and about him. I did not pull the details up because it would have wiped out this response to you! But heading there now to find out more details! May Kent RIP! He was a "Great Fellow and Second Amendment Supporter"! He will be missed.

Nice to see another Haileyite on here. And yes Idaho has some great pro gun laws. Oh by the way I spent five nights camping out East Fork, at Federal gulch last summer. I didn't see the wolves, but they were very near our camp.

20 wolves in a pack" Sounds like a good argument for 30 or 40 round magazines in your M4 to me!

This is a Wyoming wolf. They have been delisted in Wyoming no season no licenses needed. They have been very hard on the moose population.

That's what i was thinking, "wolves not squirrels".

Maybe they could be trained to hunt bears?...No, i don't think the trainer could be scarier than a bear.

Yesterday we got an inch of snow and I just went for a walk with my dogs- within 200 yds of the house we found fresh wolf tracks.

I was just reading some of that in today's paper I live in twin falls. Magpul we welcome you and all others.

I saw one once while hunting pheasant in South Dakota, it was big! I only had a shot gun and he was 300 yds away running around a pond close to a farm house.

Shhhhhiiiiit, that'd be the quickest way to get rid of them. ******** excel at killing stuff, if you dropped em off in the glades and a little further west into Louisiana they wouldn't last a month. If you told those crazy swamp f***ers that they had an open season on something they'd have to call a holiday for banks and schools so many bullets would be flying around,not that their would be any children in the schools,little junior would already be in on the hunt.

I do not know! About killing them now?
We may have found a good new location for them to be released and thrive for a while!

I don't know; even wolves must have some standards.
