    Hi,

Just wondering if I could get a little help identifying this handgun. It's from the 1980s, I believe. On the left side of the barrel it says Browning and on the right it says FN Herstal. .380 caliber. Somehow I always thought it was a Beretta design...?

If this is any help, something similar was on the cover of the manual for that old (early 1980s) role playing game "Top Secret." Think Dungeons & Dragons but with spies.

    Thanks!

Hate to be a party pooper, but the one on the game box is a Beretta.

The one one the cover looks to be a Beretta Cheetah not a Browning.

Beretta made the BDA 380 for Browning. 13 shot double stack, DA/SA. I believe it is comparable to the Beretta 84.

Just like the BDA .45 was made by Sig (P-220)

It is indeed a Browning, I had one exactly like it.

It was made for Browning by Beretta and even has the factory markings on it along with the PB in an oval which means Peitro Beretta.

It was a neat and accurate little gun, but fairly large to be a .380.

Maybe i'm wrong but to me it looks like the Beretta cheetah because the open slide design of the gun in the picture.

One of the reasons you might see the browning and FN stamps on it is because Browning was purchased by FN. If you look a some of FN's rifles, you will see that they are built using the browning automatic rifle as a base. Both are great companies and I am sure that will be a great gun. I have always been impressed with FN.
