I always have ice cubes available at my house. I buy the bagged ice from the store. When I make my own ice cubes, there's always these weird floaty things in the drink when the cubes melt. Must be mineral deposits in my water. I almost always have a big mug of water with lots of ice in it with me. I usually drink it through a straw. I prefer the cylindrical ice cubes with the hole through the middle. More surface area to cool your beverage and they just seem like a higher quality ice cube. In a pinch, I'll buy a bag of just the cubed ice cubes. At work, the ice machines on the medical floors have crushed ice, which I don't particularly like. They have crushed ice so they can make ice packs for patients who need it. The cafeteria and kitchen have nice, restaurant quality ice cubes in a machine. The kitchen people let me come in and help myself to their ice and their great filtered water whenever I want at night. How do you like your ice cubes?
