I had been on the hunt for something better for CCW than my XD9 service. My local shop had a gen 3 G26 that I checked out last weekend. I really liked the way it felt in my hand and it points so naturally for me. I've read a lot of discussions in the past about how the Glock grip angle is such a deal breaker for some. The grip angle on the G26 just feels so natural to me. I am very pleased with this gun, so far.

The best part is the trade deal I got from the shop. I traded my 3 month old XD9 service with 400 down the pipe plus $50.00 for the new gen 3 G26. He even threw in an extended mag to go along with the two standard mags that came with the Glock. I am planning on heading to the range on Saturday morning to run a couple hundred rounds through her. I can't wait!

The mag extension is a good add on for the G26.

I ordered the GAP floorplates for it. I wanted to keep the stock length for conceal-ability.

I love my G 26. I put the GAP Floor Plate on the two mags that came with the gun and I purchased two 12 round mags which are great. I also have the G 19 and I can also use these mags or carry one as a spare. I love these Guns because they are a very versatile system.

I must also say that even though I love the 26 and have carried it for a long time, I went out today and purchased a G 36 .45APC. I made a decision to carry a .45 for my EDC for no other reason than I love the round for self defense but have not been able to find a small enough pistol to suite my needs. I think 6 + 1 rounds is quite good enough for a self defense weapon with 1 spare mag in my pocket. I don't think I will need more than that although I know I would get an argument from some on this statement. I have been carrying a CW for many years and I never had the need to draw my gun wheather it was a .38 snubby or a Glock 26 in any situation and as FBI stats show that no more than 3 rounds at a distance of 7 or so feet is needed for self defense. I still love the G 26 and will never sell it but I will start to carry the new G 36 from now on.;)
