But damn. I hated wal-mart plenty before watching this. I feel that people who are capable of this do not belong in our society. I think this falls more on Tyson foods than Walmart though.

Tyson supplies much more than Walmart. So why are they singled out?

This seems to be more about needing to do something about Tyson than anything else....

    Well...

Don't think I'll be getting any more meat from Tyson.

I just got unfriended by a man I served with in the Marines over animal cruelty argument. He was upset about uggs actually being made with real sheep skin and wool. I said, "dude, you're a huge fan of every sport that pays people millions of dollars to chase a leather clad ball around a field. Where the **** do you think THAT leather came from?"

But this Tyson video takes it well beyond legit harvesting. I may just have to start raising my own livestock. I'm already Planning on investing in a couple of hunting arms (a "real" hunting rifle, small .22 like a cricket, and a shotgun I'd be willing to shoot steel or other duck loads through)

My mom has been trying to give me some chickens for a couple years now.

Yeah, it does seem a bit biased against Walmart. This is NOT a Walmart issue. I have other issues with Walmart (did you hear they're having an early black Friday sale?). But everywhere I go, I see Tyson meats.

Yeah don't get me wrong I'm no Walmarket fan but I'll limit my issues with them to ones they are responsible for. There's a pretty big anty Black THursday (being hey are wanting to open on Thanksgiving evening) to heard in the sheep that are willing to trample easch other for a damn toy or new DVD player.

Tyson meats is one of the biggest in the country. They provide meat to about every retailer in the country. Find me a store that does not sell Anytizers wings and I'll call them an exception, not the rule.

While I'm pretty sure most companies if their line of work do a lot of pretty bad things it seemed to me thiese guys had no problem being recorded. That vid was not some hidden or button cam thing. It was pretty good quality. So they had to know they where being recorded. They just didn't care.

I'm about as far from a tree hugger as one can get but they are taking things way too far. I can't see wanting ot spend my money on their products any time soon anyway.

I watched about 20 seconds and then pressed stop. Those arent farmers, they are industrial meat harvesters. Makes me sick, thats not how its supposed to be done, Ive been to slaughterhouses, its not pretty but its generally quick and painless when its done correctly. These guys are just animals, I guess I will be cutting any purchases of Tyson Farms product to zero, dont need to be thinking about that every time I enjoy perfectly cooked Oinker!

Sad that hunters are often called mean and heartless killers, I dont know any that enjoy seeing the animals suffer anything but instant death. The folks in this video deserve to be fed to the hogs themselves...

My uncle, a lifelong hunter and bona fide tough guy, cried like a baby over a bad kill a few years ago. He didn't even cry at his own parents funerals.

He'd probably be tempted to kill someone over this video.

This has nothing to do with Walmart and everything to do with Tyson Foods, who is THE LARGEST meat processor in the USA.

This video was so disturbing that I had to turn it off.

We have seen the deterioration of decency toward our fellow human beings, even on this site, I'm not surprised at the inhumanity of some toward other species. I'd like to be appalled and in disbelief, but I'm not really surprised by the mob mentality I see these young men displaying. I am ashamed to see my fellow Americans acting like that.

That is modern American culture in some areas. If we don't take responsibility for changing the trajectory of our countries future, we are doomed.

Simple courtesy & decency, aka "The Golden Rule" is what we must apply and teach for our children to live in a world worth living in.

that turned my stomach. them killing the piglets was very disturbing.

i like pork and bacon, but after seeing this, the Axxe household is boycotting Tyson Farm products from now on. we will find other sorces from here on out.

i have to agree that this is about Tyson, and not WalMart. WalMart is just another buyer they seel huge quantities to.

i hope there is aspecial place in hell for these POS's!i really do!

This is not unique, I knew a guy in the military who used to work on Chicken farms for a large company that was not Tyson, he described conditions similar to in the video.

It's more expensive but buying local from a small farm is probably the only way to not buy meat treated like this.

This is why we moved away from grocery bought meat. I buy chickens and eggs from local farmers. I buy lamb from another farmer. The rest is various game meat I hunt. Much healthier meat anyways.

That sentence pretty much nailed it. When people and animals are in an industrial environment, the people seem to loose all regard for the animals. I have no idea why but I've seen that happen many times, and it's not just the guys torturing the animals. What conditions are those animals living in and what are they being feed? I had a buddy that was a hog farmer and finally quit. He told me about the things you needed to do in order to remain competitive such as having animals packed on top of each other and feeding them the cheapest crap you could. He said he just couldn't do it and he wouldn't sell a hog raised on the crap they were being feed because he wouldn't sell something that he wouldn't eat himself.

As all ready stated, if you want to ensure that hasn't happened to the animals you eat then either go hunting or buy from a local farmer. And go to the highest price farmer there is because that's generally the one that thinks the most of his animals. :)

    Yep that's pretty messed up.
However...I do think it would be unfair to condemn a entire company, either one, based on one plant. I have been put over rogue departments that do not represent the company's business standard. The facility looks clean, probably to pass corporate audits (FDA?) so it is safe to assume Tyson does not condone such actions?
Not making excuses, I'm sure the individuals in the videos have a special place waiting for them in hell, also not saying the meat industries practices are humane, simply stating that this cannot be standard practice for such a large Corperation. Right?

    That was crappy. :(
I have no issue with animals being slaughtered for consumption (that is their purpose) but that in humane treatment is beyond reproach. :(
