Hey i got bored so i borrowed the evidence camera and took some pictures.

Eff me that's SEXY!!..... well, except for some piece of plastic that snuck in there. What's up with that bro? :D
o come on man, it was a freebie (issued) im workin on comming up with the funds for a big bore piece of steel but its gona be a few months before i can work enough overtime to swing the cash necessary for a nice 1911, but until then plastic works everytime, and you can treat it like a rented mule.
Just messing with you bro - that set up can help hold the lines near me ANYTIME my brother. Nothing wrong with that kit at all.... just saying a 1911 would be a step up. :D
Very nice piece. How's the EOTech holding up for you?
Nice kit, I wish I could swing the cash for an EOTECH. How much did it set you back?

Here's a pic JD might like better. Century Arms AR-15A2 with PPU 55 grain FMJ, RIA 1911 .45 and a cheap knife. It may be a cheap knife but I use it all the time to feild dress dear and it gets the job done.:D

That is a good looking kit to Dragunov - Very nice indeed.

We need to free float that handguard before the Space Zombies hit though. Can't have your hands getting burned from the barrel heat. :D

JD
the EOTECH is awesome its super durable and i never have to worry about it getting wet or hell even if i get exploded i think IT will be fine. I got it off of cheaper than dirt for about 380 i think, and that was back in October. I originally thought it would make longer range shooting difficult, as the red dot seems like it would cover alot of target real estate but surprisingly it works great. I have shot targets out to 250 yards and it didn't cover the target too much at all. I did go with the cheapest EOTECH they make, but who really needs NV compatibility, God forbid i have to use it in complete darkness i wouldn't have a chance to put on NV anyway. Nothing wrong with cheap knives either i have about 500 of them in various places.
I like the idea of adding a free float system but that project will have to wait to a later date as I am still currently laid off. I was told the other day by my supervisor that I might be back to work in the next week or so but I won't hold my breath.

I took a pic in which my rifle was lying on it's side but I trashed it and took that one instead cause I thought the 5.56mm rounds in all their shiny glory would be a nice touch.
Good luck with the call back bro - Here's hoping you get back on the clock quickly...

JD
Thanks for the pics, both of you. The M4 (gery) with an EOTech makes such a great picture. Nice setup bradda.
Now for Dragunov, that is the way I like to see a knife. You can tell that is a man that doesnt just let it sit around, he uses it. Truly a good tool, dont think twice about how much it costs. There are plenty of guys with 200 dollar blades that have never cut anything except the air as it went back in the sheath. Dont ever apologize for your gear, its yours and it works. A man could live on your setup (well in addition to the free float;)).
JD I respect you as a man who can banish me at your whim, but you have trodden upon on of my sorest corns. I can not abide people (especially those I respect) referring to firearms as sexy. This seems to me to be mildly perverse and definitely reinforces the rhetoric of the brain-dead opposition who say all firearms enthusiasts are compensating for sexual inadequacies. Not trying to start a war here, but this is one of my major peeves.

Sexy was a form of respect - and the person in question I was paying that respect too, is someone who understood that meaning as we have had other conversations and one I would consider friend.

If I offended you - I apologize. Often times what one person sees as sexy is in fact hideous to someone else. Such is life, so goes the world.

As far as sexual inadequacies, well, I guess if that what you, or anyone in the sirrius bidness of the internetz, wants to believe - that is fine with me. I have no desire, or need, to prove or disprove to either group.

I don't want to ban anyone, and certainly not for stating an opinion, especially if it doesn't agree with mine. If that is your view of me, that does concern me, but I suppose I will get over it by the time I finish my morning meal & take solice in the number of posts that I have had to moderate/review where I didn't get involved.

*shrug*

JD
Don't really have a view of you one way or the other jd. Actually I respect most of your output. Possibly I'm just an old prude, but to me, "sexy" definitely involves a female human. I wasn't making any personal remarks, but you have to be aware of what the hoplophobes say about us, and why give them any ammunition? Like the "cold dead hands" bumper stickers. I agree with the sentiment but driving around with it on your truck creeps out the people we need to convince if we're to prevail. Sorry about diverting the thread. By the way, nice weapons.

Thanx hillbilly, I actually didn't realize my knife was that dirty until I went to get it and my rifle for the pic. As for it being used, you're right. I used it to feild dress a deer last shotgun season and my FIL didn't realize he forgot his knife at the house so he used mine too. It's in need of a good sharpening but other than that for a $10 flee market find it's been great. I like it cause it looks similar to a military knife, I like K-Bar knives but can't afford to get one right now.

My father-in-law is really good at sharpening knives, he's showed me once how to hone a blade to hand with a stone but I need more instruction cause right now I just seem to make it duller.

Just like to add, don't let the pic fool you. The knife may be dirty but the rifle is as clean as a whistle. I won't fire one round through it if I don't have the time to clean it. Last week some friends came over for some range time and after they left my wife was kinda mad. I spent 4 hours in the back yard throwing lead downrange and she was ready to have some "us" time (unfortunately not that kind of "us" time, talking "us" time). I was lying in bed that night thinking of my AR in it's case under the bed with all that grime in the barrel. I cleaned it as soon as I got up the next morning.

a few of the weekend projects we've been playing with lately. That last one is still a work in progress...because I forgot there's more than one green now. Foilage and OD green.....GRRRRRRRR And unfortunately, by the time I reliazed how OFF they were, it was too late to exchange the stock for the OD. So the next time you see it, it will be mostly FOILAGE....more like spoilage.

I so need an AR thanks alot guys. I really need another rifle. (I ain't got room) LOL. SOmeday I will buy an AR just to piss the wife off.

BTW all nice looking set ups there guys.

Hey my free knife gets more use than my Gerber applegage minicovert.
Nice rifle slowryde45, I like the contrast in colors on the handguard. I've never seen a handguard like that before. I like the XD too, although I'm partial to the 1911 platform...SHHH, don't tell JD I said that!:p

Hey, thanks dragunovsks. Those are Magpul XTM modular rail panel covers, they are made up of two pieces that snap together top and bottom. You can get them in all the regular Mapgul designer colors :p So rather than having just one, I picked up a couple sets, different colors and inter-mixed them. After all, one has to look their best when confronting the attacking zombies ;)

And as far as the handgun, that is my wife's carry piece. I had to throw that in for fun when I read JD's observation on some plastic in the earlier photos. Most of my collection is in the 1911 platform, with a few Sigs, wheel guns, etc. to break up the monotony.
