F267A1F5-6C9F-42DD-90EB-AD9EC63255EF.jpeg Totally unmolested, 99%, Mark IV Series 70 built in 1977!!! Even has the original mag. The rails are still blue. Taking it to the range tomorrow to remedy that

Mr. Wambli, that is very nice looking indeed. it is nice to see one that hasn't been molested over the years. I am quite sure you will enjoy it. nice score!

Thank you Mr. Dallas! I’m looking forward to some range time with her tomorrow. I have a few other new guns that need some range time so it will be a busy day!

just curious as to what that beautiful specimen set you back?

I ran across a Colt Commander quite a few years ago, used but in excellent condition of late 1980's vintage IIRC, and they wanted $900 for it. by the time I was able to get back several days later it had already been sold.

If the relationship doesn't pan out just let me know. I run a home for wayward/orphaned 1911's.

Thanks! I had a good day. Actually found something else in a gun show. That had NOT happened in a long time.

Yeah because of some previous experiences like that one I’ve learned not to think too much on a good deal. On the price, let’s just say it was a “frequent customer” deal from a buddy who owns a gun store. About $3-400 less than what it would have gone for on Gunbroker!

I should have went ahead and bought it the day I saw it, and had planned on going back later the next day to buy it, but job stuff popped up and it was several days later before I was bable to get back to the store. by then, it was too late. somebody else snagged it! but I did go ahead that day and bought a Remington R1 Enhanced Model! been very pleased with it so far.

Remington is making some darn nice 1911s nowadays! Every buddy I know that has one loves theirs. Nice to have so many great options and variations of JMB’s brainchild available to us.

I bought mine back in 2010 IIRC. so far it's been a very solid performer, though it does feature the Colt type Series 80 safety in the slide. I have heard some in the last couple of years that qulity has slopped a bit, and some seem to be having problems with the R1 1911's.

when Ruger brought out the SR1911 series, I got really stoked! those seem like really nice pistols, and they just recently added the 100mm to the series.
