Traded some ammo today for a new in box Eotech L3 XPS2 HWS.

The Chinese clone Aimpoint can now be trashed!

I am so excited.. I changed my name to "giddy" for the day

Great optic, I love mine. The double dot is a little blurry at 100yds, but still a great optic

I have not figured out how to change the optic reticle yet, but I haven't read the manual.

I was just so excited to put it on my AR

    ;)

You cant change the reticle on an EOtech. Maybe I got the numbers mixed up, anyway my xps has the double dot reticle.

    Ok, just read the manual.
There are 3 models of the XPS2

    Single dot reticle
    Single dot and circle (nine)
    Double dot and Circle

    No adjustment

These are one of the best CQB sights on the market today. You made a great choice.

What was wrong with the Chinese clone, besides it not being Made in America?

    Let me count the issues..

Locktite was necessary to keep it tight on the rail.

The hinge pins in the lens caps would slow out due to recoil ( and a 5.56 doesn't recoil much)

    And zero would "walk" often.

Would be awesome for airsoft if I played that..

Has anyone have or heard of an eotech breaking on the inside?

Nope. I've got a few friends that run 'em on their weapons in Afghanistan too.

I love my EO-Tech though, it's an awesome tool. The only downside is I keep closing my other eye out of habit.

I also have friends and relatives that use them on a daily basses and have nothing but good things to say. I'm am sooty to say that have have one break. With little to none use before it happened I was sighting it on a AR. The elevation adjustment screw broke in half and was a loose peace between the glass. I am really surprised with the reputation of eotechs durability.
Here's the pease and where should go crossways behind the chip.

    I love my optics.

It always takes a box or six of ammo to zero them,

    once they're mounted...:D
