Well, lately the ATF hasn't exactly been "dazzling us with brilliance"

which obviously leaves them "baffling us with bull$*!+"...

It is beginning to appear as though a government bureau

which is supposed to objectively and fairly handle responsible

gun ownership and use in America is simply run amok with antis...

I have to agree with the "disband the organization and start over"

    posture at this point.

Maybe if some ex-employees from government are made to feel unemployment's

keen bite, it will motivate other organizations to clean up their act...

Yeah, this has been an ongoing problem for years. It's good that we're seeing some coverage of it now, whatever the source.

If memory serves, the Olufson defense asked numerous times for ATF's documentation used to determine one thing or another and the ATF couldn't produce it.

Subjective interpretations should be something we want to try to keep out of the law. Our government and its bureaucracies love subjective, ambiguous law/code/rules because it gives them that much more flexibility. It helps them and screws us.

Make no mistake ! This isn't the result of some bureaucratic ineptitude, but IMNSHO, a deliberate policy ! Sans any sort of published standards or rules, ATF is free to do whatever it wants whenever it wants ! And there's no "handle" for any court to grasp to find against them !

Maybe we ought to be asking why an agency dependent upon private firearms possession and manufacture is so virulently anti-gun ? I suspect some of the "answer" lies in Prohibition and the early FBI. When Prohibition was repealed there were a lot of agents immediately in need of a case. How better than to create a new agency, enact some ridiculous laws, then set these minions to enforce them ? >MW

there is a mantra in the nfa world: if you think you want to ask a question of the BATFE.... DONT DO IT!! you will get 6 different answers from 2 different examiners!!

just another reason the BATFE and all gun laws since 1934 need to be repealed

the only thing the batfe is sure of is how to sell guns to criminals. they are expert at ensuring firearms wind up in the hands of evil doers world wide

That's easy to do when you have inadvertently created a "criminal class" by over regulating and legislating to the point that 95% of Americans can break the law on a day-to-day basis without any knowledge of doing so!

BATFE is a cancerous organ of the DOJ which

needs to be removed before it spreads any further...

Actually it's a cancerous organ of the Dept of the Treasury, not DOJ. It was intended as a tax organization somewhat like the IRS. IMO, both the IRS and ATF badly need to be abolished.

Actually, it's a cancer in the "body politic" and needs to be removed from the country, not just the DOJ.

Don't ever forget Waco and Ruby Ridge!

If you think about it, when has the government ever given clear guidelines for anything? Our tax code is so complex that we need to hire people with degrees in understanding it just so we can send old Uncle Sam his pound of flesh. We should definitely be worried by what the ATF is doing, but it shouldn't be a surprise considering that pretty much every institution that is supposed to make our lives better does everything it can to make them just a bit less pleasant.

LBJ and the Left Wing New Deal Demorats set out to disarm America. LBJ and his legion of Austin New Dealers backed by the corrupt Kennedy Clan almost got it done. This Left Wing group forced thru the Safe Streets Omnibus Crime Bill of 1968. They wanted all rifle scopes banned as well. At the same time the old out dated very criminal left over Alcohol Control Agents of the Depression was being done away with. This New Deal police unit was formed to reduce unemployment during the depression. Anyone could sign up and join this lame brain out fit and get bribes and they did. LBJ and the Dems had used the Revenue Force for years to get rid of there enemies. The 1968 Gun Control act was then used to save them. The New Deal Democrats added gun control to the Alcohol Agents job. And Bingo we get the BATF to enforce the Democats new 1968 Gun Control Act. This has always been an under the radar always dealing with the criminal class and attacking law abiding Americans. :(

If we disband the ATF now, all the women there can stop acting like men...
