Just drove an hour to Cabelas looking for ammo and they don't have any, how hard would it be to rechamber this gun to .300 RUM? Or what other clambering options do I have?
Comments about gun shows are right on target. Old guy selling out stuff - I'm that guy. I also got to disposing of guns for widows. Surprise to me, some people are not nice. "Why are your guns so cheap ?" Because I wish to sell them. "Don't cock the air rifle." Three times in one show I had to take the cheap-*** Chinese air rifle outside. "Don't open the old box of shells." Rip. " Will this shoot 30-30 shells?" No, it's a 30-06. "Don't spin the cylinder" Click. Click. Click.
Nearly every gun show I go to has become more about cheap junk non-gun, smelly candles, outrageous asking prices, and higher table rents. I know for a fact that the same guys have had the same guns at shows for YEARS. Since there is usually no way to get money back if you've bought a lemon, well, you bought a lemon. Fakes ? YES.
Stolen ? YES
One of my peeves is that the NCS system doesn't allow private citizens to access the system. I would definitely do so to avoid selling to a prohibited person.
