    ID req x 2

Thanks Opaww for your interest, haven`t attempted to clean it up as yet.as this item was part of a boxfull ( 23 ) of neglected handguns, and ive been picking out the best & usable so far to renovate.

Thanks for the view of the other side. My son and I are looking into this weapon and have found nothing so far but I'll try and keep at it

Almost looks like it could be a prototype of some sort. I first thought it might be Japanese.

I am far from an expert, but my first thought based on the aesthetics was that it's Japanese as well.

At first quick glance, Nambu came to mind for me as well. I'm also thinking prototype of some sort...

9mm had me thinking German/European . Top view looks like wheat branches engraved rear of the ejection port.
Looks like not enough room for recoil spring assembly.
Manually cocked for each round??? No stamps to country of origin.
Maybe an underground/assassination type pistol from WWII???
    No expert, just observations
