I know you would anyways but I might as well give you permission. :D

I was home alone and bored on Friday night and decided to watch "The knife show". I'm sure many of you can see where this is going already. I bought one of their huge 200 and some odd piece deals and felt regret almost immediately. Then, I informed the girlfriend of my purchased and she yelled at me. Not for spending the money mind you, but for buying cheap junk instead of living by my own motto of quality before quantity any day. My regret was compounded even more last night when I went to the local gun shop to purchase a few things and ended up looking at a few knives from a local maker. That is what a knife is supposed to feel like, solid, strong and dependable. This knife was $400 but I could have been really close to buying it if I hadn't bought the ccn junk.

Well, just a few minutes ago I sent them an email to cancel my order and hopefully it goes through before they send anything out. I'll take the hit on shipping for my idiocy if that's what they ask but never again. I hate when I have to learn things the hard way.

So not to berate you, but what was the thought process?

    I ask this seriously.

Surely, something about this appealed to you, so what was it? You knew the knives were crap, so what did you see or hear or think that made it seem like a good idea?

Mostly what gets me looking at things like this is just the sheer quantity. I start thinking things like, they have to be worth it for that price and no knife is that bad. What really made me make the call was one item in particular that they added. It was a set of kitchen knives that were one piece of steel including the handles. I start thinking that nobody makes a cheap one piece kitchen knife and became blinded by my own stupidity. A fool and his money are soon parted comes to mind when I think of the lastest purchase.

Also, I already have a knife from them that somebody gave me a long time ago. I barely use it so it stays fairly sharp but if I start using it a lot I have to sharpen it quite often. I didn't think of that at the time and am now looking at a couple benchmade's and the ones from the local maker.

The Infomerical Tracter Beam sucked you right in.

Were you also drinking prior/during the broadcast??

Sorry bro, you got sucked right in and they got to your wallet. It has happened to all of us.

In fact, you should start a thread of the dumbest sh*t someone has bought and was instantly ashamed of their purchase. It would be epic... :D

In what section should I start this thread?:D

I was drinking beforehand but I don't like to blame the beer, people start saying bad things like "maybe you shouldn't drink so much".:p
I was sitting there with my one lonely pocket knife and decided it needed about 200 friends.

If you end up stuck with 'em

Get yourself a table at the local flea market, sell 'em dirt cheap and make some of your money back.

Well, I don't feel as bad anymore about my dumb purchase but they still haven't refunded my money yet. I'll make sure I get it back though.

Most of those on TV "specials" have a "money back guarantee". Check the fine print. You may end up having to take the shipment, then return it eating the shipping charges. We all know the "I gotta have it" syndrome so you're not the only one.

Look just take the shipment and figure out what you paid per knife and double that with $5 shipping and put them all on ebay. You will have guys buying them like hotcakes. Because that 200 knives you got for like $100 right? if that is so that is 50 cent a knife even if it was 300 that is stil only $1.50 per knife. Mark them at $5 a knife and $5 shipping and your making about $3.50 profit on each knife.

Get the FREE USPS small flat rate boxes and they ship for $4.95 I think. So your even making a small .05 cent profit on the shipping.

You gotta look on the bright side of things. Heck go to the gun show they sell like hotcakes there too.....

If it shows up at my door I may do this, that could put me right up there with getting that handmade local knife.

They showed up last night and there is something that pisses me off more than almost every knife being a pile of junk. The kitchen knives are awesome. One piece steel hen and rooster with German steel (not sure what type but always better than Chinese). I know if I send this back I don't get to keep these awesome knives.

I shouldn't have even opened the box.

Also, some of these knives are just downright dangerous. I can close most of them with barely any pressure without touching the lock.

I really do feel like berating them on the phone about quality control and the possibility of hurting somebody with such a low quality knife but For now I'd rather just have my money back quickly.

Mrs. Noids and I were breaking in our Sam's Club cards a few years ago, and they made several announcements about a knife demo. Me being me (And needing a knife for cutting up really big fish) I wandered up to the demo to see what they were offering. About 30 seconds into the Eversharp knife demo, the woman doing the presentation cut the living sh*t out of her hand. Think "drizzling". Wrapped her palm with paper towels and continued on with the demo as the towels turned red. I bought the entire set, and haven't regretted it.
