I have to sell a couple of my guns but don't want to lose my shirt to an f f l. Just wondering if anyone knows the best way to advertise private sales. Craigslist and ebay won't allow it. Am I'm stuck hoping the local liberal newspaper will allow me to advertise?

I know all the forms that have to be completed once I find a buyer. I just need to get to the point where I have a buyer.

You could try flyers in public places. You could also try using a gun auction site like gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com, or gunauction.com. If you go the online auction route, they could very easily be bought by someone out of state though. So you would have to go through whatever process NJ makes you go through.

^what he said. I have done it but required an FFL on the receiving. The laws are so damned jumbled I didn't want to get caught up in an illegal transfer by failing to file the right paperwork and perform the required FOID and permit verification. Bonus is that sellers FFL usually just charges for shipping and a small service fee, they also get better shipping methods than a non-licensed person does. Gunbroker is a good site to offer the sale. You also have a documented bound volume in and out if the buyer misbehaves with the gun.
