I have searched and searched for a .260 rem modified case without any luck. So I have decided to make my own. So can Axxe, Txhillbilly, and or anyone else show me the way?

    Just checking.

First take a case that has been fired in the rifle you are making it for; do not
    resize it.

I do this, I hold the case in 5C collet chuck, then mount that in my 4 jaw lathe
chuck and dial indicate the case in. Then drill and tap the case in the lathe.

I can look tomorrow for the drill size, IIRC the tap is a 5/16"-36 tap, but will
verify that tomorrow also if you need me to. I have them stored in a box and
they only get used for making cases.

    5/16"-36
Either a letter K drill or 9/32" drill.

    Just neck down .308.

Look on Amazon.com for a copy of George Nonte's book of cartridge conversions. it explains a lot.

Shade, you've got me confused, sir. Why would you lathe turn and drill and tap a case to be loaded and fired in a .260 Remington???

I did. He wants to neck up/down .308 and .243 to shoot in a 260. What would he drill and tap the cases for??????

Yes he is looking to reform cases; but he also want to use the headspace
gauges, from Hornady formerly a Stoney Point gauge...
