I'm not worrying about the answer to this question because I already bought one of these Pistol Security Boxes from Wal-Mart, but I thought this would be an interesting and fun question.:p

Anyone know how much damage one of those Winchester Pistol Security Boxes from Wal-Mart can take? I bought one yesterday. Like, I mean if someone forced entryed it using means other than simply prying it open. Like shooting it, using explosives (those two are extreme examples), or others.

What does it mean exactly when they say Heavy Gauge? Thickness of metal? Damage resistance?

heavy gauge is just the metal thickness and honestly, its a way for them to avoid telling you just how thick it is. Why don't you take it out back and start beating the crap out of it and let us all know?

I want to see a pistol blow up in a pistol box. I'd also like to see someone do a passable imitation of Cardinal Richelieu.

Gauge always refers to "size" or "thickness"... not damage resistance.

"HEAVY GAUGE" really means nothing (unless it's compared to something that's "light gauge"). It's merely a marketing ploy to get YOU to buy that product.

    And... it WORKED!

So it could mean that the metal thickness is large, but that doesn't tell how resistant that metal is to damage, ect.
