How do you cook your bacon?

    I have been making a lot of BLT's lately and got to wondering how you all cook your bacon. I have baked mine in the oven sometimes. Baking gives it a nice, even brown. Right now I am frying some in a frying pan, which sometimes leaves the end a little raw-ish. So, in this season of BLT's, how do you cook your bacon?

    Usually in the frying pan but I do microwave it if I'm going to chop it into bits for salad.

    ON A RACK over a baking pan in the oven. Takes longer, but much more uniform and not as greasy.

    I bake, but I make sure to put it on the middle rack and put a good sized sheet of foil inder neath it so the grease doesn't get everywhere.

    If I bake it, I lay it on parchment paper. But I like Lon's idea better.

    In many restaurants or hotels, they put it on parchment paper, which soaks up some of the grease, but I bet you'll like the rack method.

    Is it a special bacon baking rack? Can you post a picture of what you are talking about.

    Baked. No greasy galley. Put a baking rack in a foil lined bake pan, or on the broiler pan.

    Any kind of rack that will fit on a cookie sheet or baking pan so it elevates the bacon above the surface of the pan. What you're trying to do is keep the bacon up out of the grease.

    Some bakers call them cooling racks. And yes, lining the pan with foil makes the cleanup so much easier.

    Normally, SLOW fried in a skillet- BUT- ever had "Irish Chicken" ?

    Put bacon in a jar with hot water. Shake for about 30 seconds. Dredge bacon slices in flour, Place strips on rack in oven, bake at 400 until done.

    I cut the strips in half, easier to cook evenly and it fits on the sandwich quite nicely.

    I have the advantage of working in a restaurant. I cook mine on a huge flat-top grill (big-*** griddle for those of you south of the Mason-Dixon). Thick cut peppered bacon, yummy.

    I don't cook but I voted anyway because my wife gets up and makes me 3 slices of bacon and 3 eggs 5 to 6 days a week.
    I will split a brat, stuff it with sauerkraut, wrap it in bacon, and throw it on a grill from time to time too.

    whatever is most
    convienent at the time

    microwave it between paper
    towels and keeps grease
    down and a bacon sandwich
    is just minutes from enjoyment

    I just made BLTs for dinner (gotta eat all those home grown tomatoes)...the best bacon in my opinion is cooked in a frying pan. I've tried it in the microwave, but it doesn't compare.

    I have to try this. Did you all ever notice C3 knows EVERYTHING?
