Unless you have an NFA registered machine gun lower, I really can't see the point.

So you want to put a belt-fed upper on a slide fire stock?....I'm all for creative projects but that sounds like it has more problems than a submarine built with used chopsticks.

He just wants to waste ammo at unheard of rates.

Seriously. Did you win the lotto? Or do you foresee a need to lay down supressive fire in the near future?

Do it in .22 magnum; magazines have been an issue with that round, IIRC.

Maybe in 7.62x39mm for the same reason and for the love of cheap surplus ammo. :D

Have you spent much time behind belt fed weapons? Feed mechanisms are located in the feed cover and typically engage a top lug on the reciprocating bolt creating a scissor action on the feed arms which pull fresh rounds into position and kick out spent links.

Fabrication would be challenging and the timing would need to be perfect. I imagine you could rig a semi auto trigger to work with an open bolt setup but holy cow. Sounds like a lot of work.

Kinda like buying a Ford Pinto and replacing all the parts except the gear shift knob (trigger), and, even though the rest of it is now Ferrari, telling everyone you still drive a Pinto.

...and I think you can buy semi auto m60's and m2's so why kill yourself?

I've never seen one for the Ar15 platform. Never even heard of someone wanting one until now. I'd start by calling Stephanie at Red Jacket Firearms. Seriously man, they might even get you on the tv. That'd be something that the producers would love to feature.....

Right......either way, I don't think your gonna be able to do this yourself. Gonna need some serious gunsmithing skills and tools.

You have a full set up? If so, I really need to get in touch with you. Got a prototype I need to get made.
