I'd like a companion to the .357 revolver I'm getting for my birthday, preferably in .357 magnum also. I have been thinking a lever action would be cool, but I'm not 100% sure which rifle I would like to get. I don't like what I have heard about the new marlins, nor do I like the brass receiver and reloading method of the henry rifles. I have heard good and bad about the rossi's, usually that they are ok stock and pretty good with a bit of work. I don't really want to have to take a new rifle to a gunsmith to get it smoothed out. I want a rifle that is slick out of the box. Will the winchester deliver in that aspect? I haven't been able to find much on the new winchesters, most of the time people just say they don't like them because they are made in japan. Honestly I don't see how that is any worse than a rossi.
