the ak47 id like to get is american made has a milled reciever and a special compensated barrel with chevron ports that directs muzzle jump down. its called the centurion 39. if you were to clamp an ak47 down on a bench and used a nice scop how accurate would it be at 200 yards? And by decent groups I mean 5" groups or less does anyone own an accurate ak type rifle? If so what kind is it?

The AK is meant to shoot minute of man at 150 meters. It will never be a target rifle or the x39 a target round.

I have an AK 47 and it's okay 50 yards...... Any thing else I have to aim then adjust from where that round hits... I have an AK 74 that is more accurate. But as the other poster stated it's more of a rain hell on everyone in the area type of weapon...

I dont think you could get a group like that. Maybe 3-5in at 150 with the gun clamped down. If you want an inexpensive round to shoot at 200 yards get a mosin or something similar in the 80-120$ range and buy good 7.62x54 ammo, and you have a nice accurate cheap rifle for anything.

My grandson, after getting sights adjusted on a new AK47, shot from a prone position & put a 4" ragged hole in the target at 100 yards, shooting it as fast as he could pull the trigger. Being a marine, I guess he figured that was good enough for government work. :)

It's a pretty accurate and powerful pistol.
